On Sunday, October 26th, we began our drive to California to visit our grandparents. We were pretty sad that Daddy had to stay home to take care of the animals, but had peace of mind knowing that they were safe while we were gone. It’s hard to find pet sitters that we feel comfortable with for Ivan and Chester. Actually it’s impossible. Most people are afraid of Chester, and Ivan can’t stay outside in the cold at night like the other dogs, so we needed someone to stay at our house. Daddy got the job.
Less than an hour into our trip, a huge bull moose walked across the street in front of us. He was beautiful and seemed to be moving in slow motion so we were able to get a real good look at him. We decided to drive all the way to Ogden Utah on the first day, since there wasn’t much to see between here and there, and then take our time and do some sightseeing for the next two days. So, other than the moose, not much happened on Day #1.
On Day #2 we went to Dinosaur Park in Ogden. It was pouring rain and most of the dinosaurs were outside, but we REALLY wanted to see them so we got wet. But it was worth it.
They had some really cool stuff. We got to see the bones of real dinosaurs and a mammoth. Inside the museum, they also had robotic dinosaurs that were very life-like…. I think.
Grandpa’s 70th birthday was on November 8th, so we were able to celebrate with him. We actually left their house on his birthday so we had his cake the night before, but he didn’t seem to mind. Grandma Sandy’s present to him was having a CD player installed in his truck. We told him that our present to him was that we were leaving.
