Vitaly and Nikolai at Dinosaur Park California or Bust - Con't
Anyway, then we went outside and started by playing on their playground. We needed to let off some steam since we had been cooped up in a car for so long the day before. I went down a wavy slide and didn’t realize there were puddles in each section and then I landed on my butt in a mud puddle on the ground, so I was literally soaked from head to toe. Then we walked around their 5 acres to see life-size models of just about every dinosaur known so far. It was so great. I LOVE dinosaurs just about as much as I love dump trucks.

After we saw everything there was to see at Dinosaur Park, we drove to Las Vegas. We got there pretty late but had time to go to the Fremont Street Experience before bedtime. A section of Fremont Street is open to foot traffic only and covered by a huge 1400-foot big screen TV. It’s like a theater in the sky. The show we saw made it look like we were underwater. There were mermaids and sharks and schools of fish swimming over our heads. Vitaly really liked it. The music was a little too loud for me.

We stayed at Circus Circus that night and then went to their midway the next morning. We played carnival games and saw some shows. We saw a magician named Nikolai and a juggler named Vitaly. We also saw trapeze artists. Then we checked out of Circus Circus and went over to the Mirage where Siegfried and Roy have their Secret Garden. It’s like a small zoo where they promote public awareness of endangered species. They had a couple of dolphin shows and after, we got to learn all about them when I asked one of the caretakers what the dolphin’s names were. They also had an elephant and many different kinds of rare big cats like white lions and tigers.

After we left the Mirage, we finished driving to Grandpa and Grandma Sandy’s house in California.

Grandma Sandy, Nikolai, Grandma Phyllis and Vitaly One of the first things we did after we arrived, was go out to Riverside and visit Grandma Phyllis. She was working with her friend June in the office at her apartment complex so we got to play with the paper shredders and some other office machines they have there. When she was done with work, we went for a quick visit with Uncle Kit and Danny. Uncle Kit was sick so we couldn’t get very close to him, but it was nice to see him, even if it was from a distance.

We went to the beach for the first time in our lives. It was awesome! It was a little cool, but we took our shoes off, rolled our pants up and ran into the water anyway. Vitaly played in the waves almost the whole time we were there. I didn’t like the way the waves felt, like they were trying to pull me out into the ocean, so I dug a big hole and watched it fill with water. Yes, that’s FUN! I’m six.
